Using GPR to Locate Interior Utilities/ Hydraulic Pipes Prior to Drilling at Steel Fabrication Shop

GPRS Enterprises recently completed a project for an environmental consulting firm that needed an area scanned prior to soil boring. GPR was a great tool for this project. In fact, we work with this consulting firm on a regular basis. For this particular project, they needed to boreholes inside a building but they were also concerned about underground lines. There was a number of buried tank vaults, former tank nests, and sub-floor hydraulic lines which were encased in the concrete that they did not want to hit. The interior of the building was full of machining equipment, ovens, and cooling tanks with corridors between the machines for access but GPR was able to successfully complete the project without any issues. The project was successful with assisting drilling through a concrete slab on grade at multiple locations. These boreholes extended more than 20ft deep.
